Week 1: Round 2!
Hello everyone! It's now my 2nd semester in the S-STEM/TRAIN program, and I can't stress enough how genuinely happy I am to be here. Let's jump right in!
We've already got a project up and running: I'll be using Unity to code a game about bats to study how video games can be used for educational purposes, as well as possibly figuring out the demographics of players. This will be very useful to me, actually, because I've had a game project in the works for the past few years that I've been struggling to get off the ground because, to be honest, coding terrifies me. Art, music, writing, etc. have always been my main thing, so my personal project has so many graphic and soundtrack assets and a good chunk of the plot done, yet there's no actual programming.
Here's a few examples of my graphics work (I"ll be doing the bat game in a similar aesthetic as these):
This Unity game will be pretty simple, kind of Flappy Bird-ish, but I'm looking forward to working on it!
Catch you next week! Over and out.
